How VT is taking on PTSD and Operator Syndrome while honoring our gold-star families and wounded warriors.

Over the past two decades alone, there have been over 47,500 Purple Heart recipients (service members who received wounds while in combat) and over 9,961 gold-star families (families who have lost a loved one in combat). Many of these service members have physical injuries that will endure for the rest of their life. However, many suffer from unseen mental and emotional wounds that are far worse.

Post-traumatic stress, and operator syndrome effect and degrade our active duty and separated service members alike. 14% of service members suffer from PTSD. The government allocates billions of dollars to mental health services for veterans, but traditional treatments rarely ever work. To help contribute to the fight, we use fishing as means as a therapeutic release and a treatment to heal the mind and body.
